Managing Director of Coral Gardens Selected as Head Judge at Aruba's National Culinary Competition
Turks and Caicos Islands, May 31, 2005. Chefs employed at hotels of the
Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association (AHATA) and at restaurants of the
Aruba Gastronomic Association (AGA) were invited to participate in the
annual National Culinary Competition in May. The competition judging
panel presided over by Coral Gardens Manager and TCHTA Board Chairman
Andre Niederhauser had a tough time selecting the winners who would join
Aruba's team of three chefs, one pastry chef, and a bartender, who will
be representing Aruba at the Taste of the Caribbean 2005 that will take
place June 26-29, 2005 in Miami Florida.
CEO Caesar Campbell described Andre's role at the competition as "a good
indicator of the gastronomic expertise on the Island which keeps us in a
premium position to attract gastro-tourists and vacationers wanting to
enjoy a wide range of dining experiences."
Andre is a member of the Chaîne Des Rôtisseur and regional Officer
Conseiller Culinaire Provençal Caribbean and Atlantic Islands and was
also founding Board member in 1993 of The Caribbean Culinary Federation.
The Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association was established in
1992. Persons wishing to join the TCHTA or find out more about the
Association should visit the newly revamped website www.tchta.com
